This report sets out an Urban Design Protocol, which is the result of two years of collaboration between peak community and industry organisations and governments at all levels. It represents a commitment to best practice urban design and quality living spaces in Australia.The Urban Design Protocol is founded on five pillars: productivity, sustainability, liveability, leadership and design excellence. The report describes these five pillars then outlines the 12 basic principles that underpin the protocol. Each principle relates specifically to one of the five pillars.
The aim of the Urban Design Protocol is to create productive, sustainable and liveable places for people through leadership and the integration of design excellence.
