Research Training Opportunities

One of the key objectives of the SBEnrc is to attract new research students to study at member universities and provide research training and linkage opportunities for members.

Through our current university partners, Curtin University, Griffith University and RMIT University, and former partners, Queensland University of Technology and Swinburne University, the SBEnrc has contributed to the training of many post-graduate students who have gone on to successful careers in built environment research, teaching and industry organisations.

By participating in SBEnrc research projects through our partner universities, students can gain industry experience, expand their skills and build career networks across Australia. Our strong industry involvement means that the SBEnrc offers exposure to real world challenges as well as access to leading industry experts, sometimes through placement in industry offices and/or with informal industry supervision.

There are a wide range of different study and funding opportunities with our partner universities. For more information click on the relevant university link below or go to our SBEnrc Project webpages for further information and contacts in particular areas.

Benefits to Industry

Our industry partners benefit from collaborating with researchers (both established and early career) through many different modes, such as gaining insights into research training and interacting with bright inquisitive minds of the next generation of entrepreneurs! Some industry colleagues have gone on to enrol as PhD students themselves, leading to more senior career positions. Other industry colleagues have been sponsored by the SBEnrc as Adjunct Professors and engaged in guest teaching with our university partners.
