A detailed study of a complex strategic planning process. It will focus on
Kelvin Grove Urban Village (KGUV), a masterplanned mixed use infill development located
approximately two kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD (see Appendix 1), which is part of the
extension of the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) and seeks to integrate the
university with its surrounding urban and suburban context. This case study considers
theoretical, policy and professional dimensions of the project with an intention of reflecting on
the issues it raises for urban planning praxis as a platform for innovation and change in urban
environments.
