Overview

See www.brite.crcci info for details. The project is intended to build-up a longitudinal data base about innovation activity within the Australian construction industry. In the first year, the intention is to conduct a full-scale innovation survey, following up on the inaugural DISR funded, ACIF managed, pilot innovation survey conducted by a consortium led by PWC in the first half of this year.

The intention is to conduct the survey every second year to produce time series data for performance analysis. In the second year we intend to conduct a series of case studies of best-practice innovation in each of the 9 sub-sectors of the industry. The case studies will complement the quantitative data provided by the survey by describing the dynamics of industry innovation. The cases would be written-up as Best-Practice Demonstration Cases and posted on a well-publicised web-site, styled after the M4I website and Egan Demonstration Projects. The cases would be drawn from the CRC partners, and the results of the innovation surveys. Again, the intention is to undertake this process every second year to produce a rich and expanding source of learning for industry participants. We intend to repeat these activities over the life of the CRC in order to build up a longitudinal database.
