Has advanced as it has. Through this. I think that's only to the benefit of the project and the value of the outcomes to uptake and impact. So I want to say thank you. Thank you particularly to Ian for taking on the chairing of this. And to Sasha and Judy in making the coward, having the coordinated research efforts that you have across the country so well, I'm not sure whether Humair is online.

He's an apology, Keith. It just came through before. Yeah.
KH

Right. So I'm met with him yesterday. I'm in Sydney at the moment and I met with him in the wonderful you'd call it a city of Parramatta. Well, you'd call it a city. It is a city. It's a huge city. And I met with you, mayor, and he's really pleased to make the case for continuation. But he wanted to say today that he really enjoyed the level of the collaboration and the coordination of interests across the country.
And the uptake of of this in NSW is ongoing and he's keen to see what happens post NSW government election.
Uh, in terms of possible consolidation of land and housing corporation and communities and justice to bring policy and delivery together under one roof. Again look. But from the CEOs perspective of SBE, a wonderful effort and congratulations and I will start for the 1st 30 minutes here. Then I've got another commitment. But I I wanna say thank you and I'm looking forward to working with you all in the next project on build to rent.

Uh, and some ideas about that I'm collecting from NSW and Victoria while I'm here and I'll feedback to South Shore and the team over this next couple of weeks. So wonderful effort and back to you guys. Thank you.

Thank you. So we might pass over to Ian just, uh, as our prestigious and very hard working chair of this.
Research project so Ian.
IC
Ian Carter2:45
Thank you. I mean, I mean the the most obvious thing to say about this project is that it is a project of its time and I don't think.
We we talk about National Research centre sometimes and people start thinking about people beavering away doing various abstract and various other bits and pieces. This is a National Research center which is absolutely ground and in the day-to-day realities of what's going on around us, social and affordable housing.
Is a massive issue in this country. It's come home to me strongly in the last two weeks, cause a close family friend's eldest daughter, now homeless, can't find anywhere and I've been out and about trying to.
Get her somewhere stabilised and all the rest of it. And she's got now got mental health issues because of all that's gone on. It's all this classic stuff that we see in the tools and the outcomes and the domains that are in this document. So it's been a real lived experience to support Michelle through a really difficult time and I still am because we we still haven't resolved it because all the people that I know from my time at Anglicare.
Well, I'm bringing them up and saying.
Properties available anything no.
Nope, not there.
KH

Umm.
IC
Ian Carter4:13
Umm. And yeah, it's a huge. It is a huge issue.
The other amazing thing about this project is all the partners who've been involved in it, and you go through all of them from industry, state government, universities, across this country, non government agencies, state government agencies, it's a huge list of people who come together and bring their expertise and their passion around them.
So for me that they been the power of it, we also need to acknowledge that this project builds on other projects that have been done by SB, NRC and stuff. That's Sue Ash shared and other projects which have been built which come up in the PowerPoint, but you see.
All the work that's been built on and now we're about to deliver on it. And last but not least, the team I've mainly interacted with, Sacha and Judy, you've been a absolute pleasure to work with your skills and capabilities and the stuff that you push out in very short time frames is amazing. So thank you for your leadership of this project.
And Keith, thank you for your leadership of the whole thing and your enthusiasm and your capacity to throw to someone at the last minute and say Ian wouldn't mind doing this.
But I'm really am happy to be part of this project. We've been the best better than plastic project, Keith.
And after a coffee coffee with Ken, Michael and you, I didn't have anywhere to go.
KH
Keith Hampson5:51
It's.
It's uh, it's great to dance with you, Ian.
IC
Ian Carter5:59
Right.
KH
Keith Hampson6:01

I just will also probably want to take this time to acknowledge the traditional owners of the lands in which we currently meet. I'm currently on Terrigal and Jaguar country in Brisbane so and I know that there's many lands across the country which we're all physically or virtually sitting within. So I'd like to acknowledge those leaders past, present and also emerging for the contributions to the land that we.
Ask so lucky to have an and to inhabit.
